Running a GEO visibility check
How to check if AI platforms cite your content.
GEO checks query AI platforms to see if and how they mention your brand and content.
Starting a GEO check:
- Select your project from the sidebar
- Go to GEO → click "Run GEO Check"
- Enter a query that your target audience might ask an AI (e.g., "best project management tools")
What we monitor:
- ChatGPT — Does OpenAI's ChatGPT mention your brand when answering relevant questions?
- Perplexity — Does Perplexity cite your content in its AI-generated answers?
- Gemini — Does Google's Gemini reference your website?
- Claude — Does Anthropic's Claude mention your content?
- Google AI Overviews — Does Google's AI overview feature cite your pages?
Understanding GEO scores:
- Visibility Score — 0-100 score based on how frequently your brand appears in AI answers
- Citation count — Number of times each platform mentioned your content
- Sentiment — Whether mentions are positive, neutral, or negative
- Competitor comparison — How your AI visibility compares to competitors
Tips for improving GEO visibility:
- Create comprehensive, well-structured content that directly answers questions
- Use clear headings, lists, and data that AI can easily parse
- Build authoritative backlinks — AI platforms favor well-cited sources
- Include structured data (JSON-LD) to help AI understand your content
