Running your first SEO crawl

How to start an SEO audit and understand the results.

An SEO crawl analyzes your website for technical issues, content quality, and search optimization.

Starting a crawl:

  1. Select your project from the sidebar
  2. Go to the SEO section or click "Run Crawl" from the Getting Started checklist
  3. Click "Start Crawl" — our crawler will begin analyzing your pages

What we check (100+ items):

  • Technical SEO — Broken links (404s), redirect chains, missing SSL, slow pages
  • On-page SEO — Missing title tags, duplicate meta descriptions, missing H1 headings, image alt text
  • Content quality — Thin content, keyword stuffing, readability score
  • Structured data — Missing or invalid JSON-LD schema markup
  • Performance — Page load time, Core Web Vitals indicators

Understanding results:

  • SEO Score — Overall health score from 0-100. Above 80 is good, above 90 is excellent.
  • Issues — Prioritized list of problems, sorted by impact. Fix high-impact issues first.
  • Pages — Per-page breakdown showing individual scores and issues.

How often to crawl:

  • Run a crawl after making significant site changes
  • Weekly crawls are recommended for active sites
  • Your plan determines how many pages per crawl and crawls per month
